Monumental Inscription (Section D.)
Sacred to the memory of Robert Allan who died 13th Sept. 1838 aged 60 years. Also his wife, Elizabeth Lindsay, who died 6th Jan. 1842 aged 63 years, Robert son of the above who died at New Orleans U.S.., 17th June 1830 aged 25 years David who was lost at sea Nov, 1847 aged 36 years.

1846. Robert Allan died 13th September 1838, aged 60 years. His spouse Elizabeth Lindsay died 6th January 1842, aged 63 years. Erected by their family. Robert, son of the above died at New Orleans U.S. 17th June 1830, aged 25 years. David lost at sea November 1847, aged 36 years. Their son-in-law John Watson, council officer died 13th December 1847, aged 48 years; their daughter Rose, wife of William Robertson died 6th April 1849, aged 30 years.
