Monumental Inscription (Section B.)
Erected by John Chapman in memory of his spouse Ann Marshall who with an infant son died 21st April 1836 in the 45th year of her age also their three children James, Thomas and Marjory also son John who was drowned at sea 29th August 1841 aged 22years. The above John Chapman died 12th November 1856 aged 66 years.

Erected by John Chapman, weaver, Magdaleneyard Road, Dundee in memory of his spouse Ann Marshall who with an infant son died 21st April 1836 in the 45th year of her age. Also their three children, James died 11th December 1822, aged 1 year, Thomas died 1st July 1825, aged 10 years, and Marjory died 10th September 1832, aged 7 years. also son John who was drowned at sea 29th August 1841 aged 22years. The above John Chapman died 12th November 1856 aged 66 years.
