Erected by James Stevenson, millwright, and Janet Stuart his wife in memory of their children, George, died 19th May 1844 age 7 months, James died 31st January 1847 age 1 year, Mary B. died 30th May, 1862 age 3 years, Eliza K. died 17th June 1867 age 18 years William S. died 13th September 1871 age 17 years.

Eliza K. died 17th June 1867 aged 18 years and 10 months. William S. died 13th September 1871, aged 17 years and 6 months. The above James Stevenson, died 17th February 1880, aged 64 years. His wife Janet Stuart died 7th October 1897, aged 77 years. George Stevenson died 20th April 1903, aged 52 years.
